    The Knights Templar must have been one of the first international military organizations. Could the Crusades really be considered a World War by todays standards? Were these the largest conflicts in history up to that time?

    Hey this is a good point. I never thought of the crusades as a Wrold War, but I suppose you could make an argument for that.
